En fait, si on regarde une fiche technique d'un connecteur ayant un "flat wiping contact system" que vous trouverez dans le lien ci-dessous, il est écrit que "wiping action cleans contact surface during disconnection "

Du coup, on peut penser à traduire "flat-wiping connector" par "connecteur autonettoyant pour contacts plats". Le produit prétend bien "essuyer" le contact lors de sa déconnexion, comme l'a proposé Ghislaine Rosso. Il faut cependant que cela soit en accord avec le produit concerné dans le cas présent.
Rs-online utilise par contre le terme "contacts à glissement plats" pour définir les "flat-wiping contacts", comme le propose Samuël Buysschaert. Cela correspond alors à la façon de réaliser la connexion plutôt qu'à son but et peut être une solution plus générale.

agree  Tony M: Your last remark is correct: the 'wiping' action is fortuitously also self-cleaning, but is not the inherent purpose; 'wiping' refers to the way the contacts make contact mechanically — some kind of sliding action. But not 'pour' — maybe '-à...'
