I used to worked in export 'in suspended animation' pre-intro of VAT in the UK, so the suspended scheme never came up on the dockets and other export forms.
Bonded goods and items are released only when the customs authorities have received payment in full. After a defined period, if the payment has not been made, US Customs destroys or otherwise disposes of the bonded products in the shipment.
