nieszczęśliwie podałaś termin angielski; normalnie \"in-cab height\" znaczy wysokość (użyteczną) wnętrza kabiny; im większa tym lepiej, bo kierowca może np. stanąć wyprostowany, by się przebrac i poruszać w kabinie bez schylania się - stąd kabiny z wyokim dachem jak. np. Globetrotter Volvo itd.; tu chodzi tylko o to, by kierowca wiedział, że ma gdzieś pod ręka podana całkowitą wysokość pojazdu

Może zatem chodzić o WSKAŹNIK WYSOKOŚCI CAŁKOWITEJ; spotkałem się z \"in-cab height indicator\", za pomocą którego kierowca przed rozpoczęciem kursu oblicza wysokośc całkowitą pojazdu (zmienna jest wysokość nadwozia naczepy i także wysokosć siodła (FIFTH-WHEEL) w ciągnikach mających zawieszenie pneumatyczne. IMO kontekst nie pozostawia tu wątpliwości.

See the comment I have just added. The context plus some awareness of how lorries operate tell me "in-cab height" is NOT "wysokość całkowita pojazdu :-)

THINK! advice - avoiding low bridges
Every day, on average, 10 vehicles crash into bridges too low for them, sometimes killing the driver.
Many drivers don't seem to know the height of their vehicle, although by law this should be written on a notice in the cab, which they can check to see if it's safe to go under a low bridge.
Even when an in-cab height indicator has been fitted, many drivers don't know what it's there for.
If you drive a high vehicle you should:
Check the in-cab indicator;
Remember your vehicle height;
Plan your route to avoid bridges that are too low for you to clear safely;
Remember that only bridges with less than 16'3" safe clearance will be marked on a map; and
Check the bridge height sign.
As part of a THINK! campaign, there are posters at truck stops and motorway service stations warning drivers of the risk of 'bridge bashing'. You can order copies from our catalogue.

check that the IN CAB display indicator is showing the HEIGHT OF EITHER THE VEHICLE OR (IF RELEVANT) THE TRAILER, which ever of the two is higher
