Dutch term

gedeelten van het gehuurde

Dutch to English Law/Patents Real Estate lease contract
Hi - I am having difficulty understanding this correctly - specifically how "parts/portions of the leased property" fit with "moving or waiving/letting expire" in the context of the rest of the paragraph. Is there another meaning to gedeelten? Thanks for your input!

Ten aanzien van die gedeelten van het gehuurde waartoe huurder geen exclusief gebruiksrecht heeft, zoals gemeenschappelijke ruimten, liften, (rol)trappen, trappenhuizen, gangen, toegangen en of andere onroerende aanhorigheden is het verhuurder toegestaan de gedaante en de inrichting daarvan aan te passen en deze gedeelten van het gehuurde te verplaatsen of te laten vervallen.cts, etc.
Proposed translations (English)
4 +2 parts of the rented/leased property
3 sections carved out of the demised premises

It means that the landlord can redesign, renovate or relocate these facilities, or cease to provide them.

parts of the rented/leased property

It refers to those parts of the rented property that is for common use and these are named. Apparently the renter/leasee is permitted to change, move, or even eliminate them (e.g. close off an entrance), which is very unusual. In most cases the text would say 'niet toegestaan'.

The misunderstanding comes from your translation of 'moving or waiving/letting expire', that could be right in other contexts but does not fit here.
Peer comment(s):

neutral sindy cremer : agree with the translation, but not with the explanation in the second sentence: the text reads 'is het verhuurder toegestaan' => lessor's privilege (NOT lessee/tenant) = not unusual at all.

agree philgoddard : Agree with Sindy, but the question is "gedeelten van het gehuurde".

sections carved out of the demised premises

die gedeelten> surely this is past participle and includes the common parts of the building.

het verhuurder toegestaan de gedaante en de inrichting daarvan aan te passen en deze gedeelten van het gehuurde te verplaatsen of te laten vervallen.cts, etc.:

the lessor, as opposed to the lessee, is entitled to relocate or cause these partitioned sections to be 'surrendered'.
Example sentence:

Definition of demised premises: Rented property as referred to in lease documents.
