(as are alligators/crocodiles, bison, camels, dolphins, giraffes, hippos, etc.). However, as Kanazawa-san says, the image of a bull here (in English, anyway), is definitely that of a 闘牛.

そうですね、オスカルが陶器を見るとムズムズするのかもしれません。ただ、腑に落ちないのは、旧訳で、なぜ「ゾウに恋している陶器」と訳されているか、です。象という単語はドイツ語でしか出てこないし、英語ではbullになっています。それとも私のように英独両方見比べて訳したのかもしれません。英語のbull in a...は闘牛に使う牛を連想させますよね。元々牛っておとなしい動物だと思うのですが。ドイツ語の象を使ってもニュアンスは伝わってきますよね。
