For CAD/CAM, you can preserve the acronyms, or you can transliterate them as follows: برامج كاد/كام I believe the terms are established enough for the transliteration to make sense in Arabic. There are precedents to this such as UNESCO يونسكو or AIDS إيدز. برامج التصميم والتصنيع بالحاسوب Explanation: Pronounced: BARAMIJ AL-TASMEEM WAL-TASNEE’ BIL-HASOOB My usual practice is to keep abbreviated expressions abbreviated, unless there is an overriding reason not to. So in the context you presented, I would keep the expression CAD/CAM in its abbreviated form. I would use the Arabic abbreviation as suggested by Boushra and Alaa, but possibly also the English abbreviation if space allows it. Alaa’s discussion of the suggested abbreviations is exactly right. Therefore, my answer here only addresses the expanded form, which could come in handy in a lot of contexts, not necessarily this one.
