Anche se si ripete, secondo me è sicuramente un typo. E' proprio l'espressione tipica per descrivere una curva, una quantità "versus" (in italiano l'espressione è "in funzione di") un'altra. Magari è stato usato un copia-incolla e l'errore si è propagato.
