French term

repos sur un postérieur

French to English Medical Livestock / Animal Husbandry
Description of how to inject the nervous roots between L4 and S1 in the horse. From a clinical case report.

Ne pas tranquilliser ou tranquilliser faiblement sinon apparaît une ataxie avec **repos sur un postérieur** qui rend l'axe de l'aiguille difficile à évaluer.

resting on one hind leg

le postérieur = the hind limb; the horse is putting its weight on one hind limb when it rests rather than shifting periodically from one hind limb to the other. Probably doesn't want to rest its weight on the other limb when standing because of pain, weakness, lack of control, etc., on that side. Hope this helps!
