German term or phrase: Bahnkanntenregelung
"1. Sicherheitshinweise

From an instruction manual for a positioning device. I haven't got a clue what "Bahnkanntenregelung" is (adjustment or control of a "Bahnkannte" or maybe "Bahnkante", but what's that?) and can find no references for it anywhere. TIA for any light you can shed on this extremely strange word.

Edge Guide Controls
The H3321B and H4321 Edge Guide controls provide a cost-effective method of adjusting and maintaining web edge position. Examples are reel stand (let-off and re-reeling), steering roller, and pivoting roller type applications.
This edge guide control centers the web by monitoring edge sensors and moving the actuator as needed to maintain center.
