Spanish term or phrase: albal de papel
This phrase occurs in a list of items for cooks, "bolsa de plástico con papel albal (para la masa). "Albal" has me stumped!
Giles
English translation:Not surprised!
Explanation:
Alabal is a brand name, which is becoming generic like hoover, levis, etc

It's 'aluminium foil'in English, i.e. for wrapping food up in, for the oven for example.

I wouldn't use the brand name to refer to it - it's may be meaningless to your readers (not to mention free publicity.....we pay enough for publicity and packaging as it is...)

Thanks for your help. All the answers were good and helpful, though I felt the product referred to was actually plastic film - it was for wrapping dough in to store it. However, I like you sentiments re the greed of the packaging industry so award you the points!

foil paper

Explanation:
Albal is a commercial trade mark. The generic name would be "papel de aluminio".

So, the translation is "foil paper", 'aluminium paper".

Good luck,

Albal aluminum foil

Explanation:
Just to clarify the preceding answers: Saran Wrap (also a trade name) is a clear plastic wrap. Albal--note spelling--evidently, is a brand name for aluminum *foil*:

papel albal, papel (de) aluminio, alusa-foil, papel plateado.

Albal aluminum (AmE), aluminium (BrE) foil

Explanation:
I agree with ybroad - it is a common brand name. The only change is whether it refers to the British or American market.
