“I love translating writers that have the courage to break the overrated rule of showing and not telling, especially when showing just means people frowning and shrugging all the time. Story-tellers must tell, for God’s sake! Good, complex writing may be daunting, but it’s not difficult as in burdensome, because you see a purpose to it, it’s rewarding and exhilarating”.

Federica Aceto is an Italian literary translator. She speaks Italian, English and basic German, Spanish and French. She decided to answer our questions in English.
