Alors voilà, j'écris ce rapport.... quelques 18 mois après notre rencontre, donc les souvenirs ne sont plus très très précis sur tous les points.

C'est ce qu'on appelle "prendre du recul", pour qu'il ne reste plus que les bons souvenirs et que les impressions "à chaud" se soient un peu affinées avec le temps ;-)

Alors, donc...

On s'est rencontré à la Salamandre, où nous avons pu expérimenter les fameux "apéros linguistiques" de l'association "SMILE" (diminutif de "Strasbourg Métropole InternationaLE", selon leur site sur http://www.thesmilingcity.com).

Cette idée est vraiment chouette, et l'idée de faire la même chose par chez nous me turlupine depuis un bon bout de temps...

Ensuite on est allé dans un petit troquet dans le quartier de le Kruthenau, dont j'ai oublié le nom. C'est bien dommage, parce que leurs tartes falambées n'étaient pas mal du tout (quoi que, un peu petites à mon goût de gros mangeur de tartes flambées ;-) ).

Heureusement que, finalement, on n'était que 4, parce que c'était vraiment un endroit minuscule, mais c'était sympa et on a pu papoter d'autant mieux et avec tout le monde :-)

Après ça ?
Je confesse que je ne sais plus si on a fait quelque chose par la suite, ou alors on est allé dans un bar à musique "live" sans doutes, où j'ai dû boire un peu de trop et je ne me souviens plus de rien ;-)
Mais non, je crois bien qu'on étais tous crevé et qu'on est rentré chez nous, après de longues heures de bavardage à table, ayant été expulsés par le barman à la fermeture du dit troquet.

En tout cas, c'était une soirée sympa qui m'a permi de connaître du monde et avoir une idée de la différence des méthodes de travail (quoi que, pas tant que ça), des marchés locaux Alsaciens, Allemends et Portugais, et surtout, surtout de la différence des tarifs pratiqués et communément acceptés par les clients dans les divers pays (avec des différences abyssales !!!).

J'ai hâte de retrouver ce petit monde,

Well, I write this report.... about 18 months after our gathering, which means my memories might be a little bit blurred about every detail.

That's what one calls "take a step back", to skimm off only the good memories and let the hot first impressions cool down over time ;-)

So...

We met at the "Salamandre" bar, where we took part in the famous "linguistic cocktail" organized by the "SMILE" association (short for "Strasbourg Métropole InternationaLE", according to their website on http://www.thesmilingcity.com).

This is really a nice idea I would like to implement in our city area, since a long time.

After that we went to a small pub in the "Kruthenau" part of the city, of which I forgot the name. It is quite a pity, because they had quite nice "Tarte Flambée" there (although, a little bit too small to my big eater's taste ;-) ).

Fortunately we were only 4 of us, after all, because we would not have managed to fit a lot more people into this tiny place, but it was quite nioce and we could have quite a nice chat with everyone :-)

After that ?
I must confess I do not remember of we did anything afterwards, or if we went as usual to some other pub with live-music, where I might have had a glass or two too much, which would explain my weak memory about that night ;-)
But no, I really think we were all tired and went home after hours of chatting around the table, after having been thrown out by the bar tender on the premises' closing hour.

Anyway, it was a well spent evening that allowed me to get to know some people, and get a rough idea about hte differences between our respective working methods (although, not that different after all...), between the local translation markets in Alsace, Germany and Portugal, and most of all, between the rates paid and usually accepted by customers in those different countries (with some abyssal differences !!!).

I look forward to meet al these people again,
