English term

Stent graft

Hledám vhodný a v praxi užívaný český překlad. Definice je zde:

Stent graft: vascular stents which are covered with a synthetic material such as dacron, PTFE or polyurethane to form a graft prosthesis. First developed to be used in peripheral arterial occlusive disease to prevent intimal hyperplasia or to cover small aneurysms or arteriovenous fistulae, the technique has recently been expanded to treat aortic aneurysms with transcatheter techniques. There are two basic types, 1) stented grafts and 2) grafted stents. In stented grafts, a metal stent (Gianturco or Palmaz) is attached to each end of the synthetic graft material (Parodi stent, Chuter stent, EVT stent). In grafted stents, the metal stent is covered by a synthetic graft material in its entire length (Vanguard-graft stent, Palmaz-Impragraft stent, Corvita stent) (Fig.1).

Aortic stent grafts which come as simple tubular or Y-grafts, must be inserted via a surgical femoral artery cut down. Smaller devices up to 14 mm in diameter for iliac and femoral arteries may be placed percutaneously. While aortic stent grafts seem to gain a definitive role in minimal invasive therapy of aortic and pelvic aneurysms, stent grafts used for occlusive iliac and femoral popliteal disease have not yet proven to be advantageous as compared to conventional stents.

Chci jen poukázat na to, že "stent-grafty" se obevují na českých webových stránkách. Zdá se, že slovo se objevuje i v českém zákoně, viz odkaz níže.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks. IMHO it's kinda absurd to import this from English directly. I used "stent se stepem"."
