The British Insurance Brokers’Association (BIBA) has warned that the introduction of the congestion charge in central London last February could lead to premium hikes for drivers. As car commuters try to avoid the zones where the charge is in force, the resulting traffic build-up in surrounding zones could lead to more frustration, road rage, and inevitably, accidents. BIBA Chief Executive Mike Williams believes there is a real possibility that knock-on effects will eventually lead to premium increases.
