Societal Determinants and Determination of Health
How Health Is Societally Determined
The Latin American concept of social (or societal) determination of health shifts emphasis from what (factors) to who (i.e., which groups and political and economic forces) is determining both the factors and the processes that produce and reproduce health/illness.
Each of us experiences ill-health individually, yet virtually every bout of illness or injury can also be understood in societal terms.
