Anishta
The translation of 'evil' as in 'there is a lot of evil in this world' would be 'anishta' which is pronounced with /a/ as in 'account'.
If you want to say, 'the Evil One' then it would simply be 'sheitaan'.
On the other hand, if you wanted to bring out the meaning of 'evil' as in 'bad' then it would be 'kharaab'.
Let me know if there are more doubts. Send me your email and I can send you the exact phonetic transcription.

ashubh
Literally, inauspicious. This is the term which can be used as the translation for 'evil' in the majority of its contexts.

'Anishta' versus 'ashubh'
'Ashubh' would be used in the context of a bad omen not exactly in the sense of Evil, which is why I did not give it as an alternative.
'Anishta' would be more appropriate.
