Brida .../ Bocado ( Un tipo de brida con doble presión) Explanation: Descubrimientos sobre FULL-CHEEK. "A BIT OF MAGIC" "This is the first book on bitting that I have ever understood. It is not only an enjoyable read, but informative aswell, and I think essential for all riders." - Rachael Bayliss (3 day event European Gold Medallist) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Poll Pressure Snaffles Within the snaffle family, the hanging or baucher cheek, gives in addition to the usual points of control associated with the snaffle an additional element of poll pressure, to ask for a lowering of the horse's head. K1250 - FRENCH LINK BAUCHER Sizes: 4 1/2", 5", 5 1/2", 6" A classical bit from the French school of riding. The French link mouth reduces the nutcracker action and the Baucher cheeks add an element of poll pressure. A superb mouthing bit for dressage and related disciplines. K1260 - DEWSBURY LINK BAUCHER Sizes: 4 1/2", 5", 5 1/2", 6" The new Dewsbury link Baucher, couples the poll pressure of the cheek, with unique curvature of the the Dewsbury link mouthpiece, to encourage mouthing and harmony with an element of lowering of the horse's head carriage. Acceptable for dressage. K6200 - JOINTED BAUCHER Sizes: 5", 5 1/2" The jointed mouth Baucher, offers a slightly stronger mouthpiece, for the slightly stronger, free flowing horses. The Baucher cheeks add the element of poll pressure. Allowed in dressage. K1270 - WATERFORD BAUCHER Sizes: 4 1/2", 5", 5 1/2", 6" Known in Europe as "the Bit of Magic" - the Waterford mouth coupled with baucher cheeks for additional poll pressure, is a superb eventing snaffle. Whilst giving exceptional control, this bit offers superb mouthing and acceptance qualities. The Full Cheek Snaffle The addition of spoons can help to prevent the bit being pulled through the horse's mouth. In addition, they give a directional assistance, evoked by the rider's rein aid, by indicating to the horse the direction the head should face. This is specifically useful for young horses, or in the re-education of an older one. With the use of keepers, the full cheek prevents the horse turning the bit over in his mouth and if tightly fitted, can stop a horse evading by crossing the jaw. K6144 - FRENCH LINK FULL CHEEK SNAFFLE Sizes: 4 1/2", 5", 5 1/2" This classical, full cheek snaffle with a small, light elegant French link , reduces the nutcracker action and encourages lightness, acceptance and salivation. With the arms of the mouthpiece connecting to the link in a horizontal plane, this bit eliminates unequal tongue pressure. The full cheeks can assist with direct rein aids for the young and the not so young, horses. K6123 - DEWSBURY FULL CHEEK SNAFFLE Sizes: 5", 5 1/2" The Dewsbury link mouthpiece, has a link with a unique curvature that conforms to the shape of the horse's mouth. Having all the advantages of the French link, it too eliminates any unequal tongue pressure. The Dewsbury link, offering a little more weight than the French link, encourages the younger horse to move away from the rider's hand and when coupled with the full cheeks makes a superb training bit. K6199 - JOINTED FULL CHEEK SNAFFLE Sizes: 5", 5 1/2" The jointed mouth full cheek snaffle, requires a little more respect from horses than the gentle linked mouthpieces. For those slightly more forward going horses, by operating on the corners, bars and tongue, it gives the rider more control, particularly when coupled with the directional help from the full cheeks. A good bit for turning and speed work. K6167 - WATERFORD FULL CHEEK SNAFFLE Sizes: 5", 5 1/2" The waterford mouth offers superb mouthing qualities plus control. It has enjoyed success in the eventing and hunting worlds. When enhanced with the full cheeks, it offers a superb response to direct rein aids for turning and when riding a half halt, gives an automatic brake. A superb choice for riding at speed in small, tight areas. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- John Dewsbury and Kangaroo are trademarks of James Cotterell & Sons Ltd.
