neutral  Tony M: I don't have any doubt about the fact that it refers to some kind of 'trussing', but the trouble is, nothing in the s/t actually specifies it is triangular.

agree  Bourth (X): Truss yes, triangular not necessarily, and upstage.

goalpost at back of stage

Explanation:
Here's one ref. that shows it being sued in exactly this sort of way (note that 'Trilite' is just the kind of common triangular trussing mentioned by Canola, though I think that's a side issue here, since we don't know for sure what this 'pont' is made of):

OK, forget that! Bourth has clearly taken the time to do the research and has come up with the right answer: 'pont' just means a truss of any unspecified kind, so scrub that 'goalpost' idea.

As for 'upstage' vs 'at back of stage', I don't think there's a lot to choose between them — as long as you avoid falling into the trap of 'backstage', which is of course quite different!

agree  Bourth (X): Looks like it's an upstage truss (see References). See photo of "pont de contre-jour" page 3 my last site in References: a truss suspended by wires. Also "truss" given in one of the Fr. defs.

-> Thanks, Alex, I see you have got this one licked! I'm not too sure 'upstage' really works in this non-theatrical context (not even a proper stage), I think 'at back of stage', though clumsier, might be more appropriate in this specific context.

• Box TRUSS
An aluminum or steel support structure often used for temporary rigging of lights, scenery, or sound equipment. As the name suggests a box truss is rectangular in shape creating a rigid structure which is easy to stack and load onto a truck. An additional advantage of box truss over other truss shapes is the ability to hang lighting instruments inside the truss, where they can remain protected while in transport.

• Pre-hung TRUSS
A truss or truss section which has been pre-assembled with lighting equipment and connecting devices in the shop prior to installation at load-in. Using a pre-hung truss saves many hours when loading a show in or out, and makes for an efficient method of storing equipment on a truck.

• Triangle TRUSS
A triangular shaped truss such as that used for radio towers. Triangle truss has the disadvantage over box truss that instrumentation must be struck from the truss before it can be loaded into a truck.

We don't know what actual shape this thing is, only its dimensions (10 x 4m). Given that it's for décors rather than lights, it might simply be a rectangular frame or truss, made up of 4 component spaceframe trusses over which canvas décors are stretched. Whatever it is, "truss" has to cover it. Cf roof trusses which can be all shapes under the sun.
