Technical text about transponders:

"...es wird nur die Transpondermodulation und der Header des Transponders dedektiert."

It's not a misspelling, since it appears twice in the text. Help!

While "dedektieren" does not (yet?) show up in Duden or Wahrig, a quick Google search on the term brought up about 30 or so hits, as opposed to several thousand for "detektieren". This particular website uses both dedektieren and detektieren on the same page:
www.e-smog.ch/produkte/helfdigit.htm

All the references brought up by a search on "dedektieren" clearly indicate that it is an "Eindeutschung" of to detect.

Explanation:
This came up not too long ago, and I'm almost certain the explanation was that this is a Germanized form of the English verb to detect. But please wait on confirmation before adopting!
