Before I write to my client, can someone confirm my suspicion that this sentence makes no sense? Or please tell me what they really meant so I don't have to wait until Monday for the client!!

It's part of the operating manual for a mobile exhibition stand, in the section about connecting the stand's power unit to the mains via a "3.pol. Schutzkontakt-Steckdose". Thank you.

My interpretation of the sentence

"Da das Stecksystem keine eindeutige Polung zulässt ist zu Beachten das dass Nulleiterpotenzial nicht definiert an den mit -N- gekennzeichneten Klemmen und Leitern anliegt."

is as follows:

Since the plug-and-socket connector is not reverse polarity protected, there is no guarantee that terminal clamps and conductors marked or labelled with "N" have the electric potential of the neutral conductor.

Note
A plug-and-socket connector system like the "Schuko-System" (Schutzkontakt-Steckdose/Schutzkontaktstecker) is not protected against switching poles. (s.http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schuko)

Sorry, I forgot to state the origin of the text fragment (... neutral conductor potential is within the range of normal operation ...) quoted above. Here it is: http://www.wikipatents.com/gb/535446.html
