that snow and wind Explanation: "hríðarfjúk" is when it snows and the wind blows. It's not as bad as a full-blown snowstorm, but still quite uncomfortable to travel far in. "að tarna" in this particular context is used to show that the speaker doesn't think much of this weather. It some contexts it can mean "that", but is sometimes just added as an otherwise meaningless filler phrase to show contempt for something, or sometimes even in an affectionate tone. |
