Translation - English the annual report of the South African Reserve Bank for the year ended March 31st gives some useful information about prices at which the Bank has been buying gold from the producers and selling it to the Bank of England. It also states that during the first nine months of the year Union procedures were paid the previous fixed price of 223S. 3D. per ounce

Source text - English SRSG Ashraf Qazi Applauds the Declaration of Makkah al Mukaramah
Baghdad, 22 October 2006-- Baghdad-22 October 2003- The Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Iraq, Ahraf Qazi applauded the Mekkah al-Mukaramah Declaration calling it a major step towards halting violence and healing the wounds in Iraq. The SRSG commended the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) for its initiative, which resulted in the Declaration. Mr. Qazi applauded Iraq’s religious leaders who drafted and signed the text of this declaration and called on Iraqi leaders to commit themselves to the letter and spirit of this declaration.
The SRSG said that Iraq’s religious, political and social leaders had a responsibility to use their influence with all their followers to ensure that the tenets of this declaration were fulfilled as a matter of urgency. As the declaration had noted, the worsening security situation made it imperative that Iraqi muslims were united against sectarian violence. Mr. Qazi said that the United Nations stands ready to provide any assistance required to facilitate the implementation of this declaration.

بغداد-22 تشرين أول/ أكتوبر 2006- رحب الممثل الخاص للأمين العام للأمم المتحدة في العراق أشرف قاضي بوثيقة مكة المكرمة واصفاً إياها بالخطوة المهمة نحو وقف العنف وتضميد الجراح في العراق. كما أثنى على منظمة المؤتمر الإسلامي لمبادرتها التي أثمرت عنها هذه الوثيقة. وأشاد السيد قاضي برجال الدين العراقيين الذين صاغوا هذه الوثيقة ووقعوا عليها، وطالب القيادات العراقية المختلفة الالتزام بها نصاً وروحاً.
وقال السيد قاضي إنَّ القيادات الدينية والسياسية والاجتماعية في العراق تتحمل مسؤولية استخدام نفوذها لضمان تنفيذ بنود هذه الوثيقة كأولوية ملحّة. وكما أشارت الوثيقة فإنَّ الأوضاع الأمنية المتردية تحتم على المسلمين في العراق أن يتحدوا في مواجهة العنف الطائفي. وأضاف السيد قاضي أنَّ الأمم المتحدة على أهبة الاستعداد لتقديم أي مساعدة ممكنة من أجل تيسير تنفيذها.
