I am a 29-year-old Chinese student, and I am currently in my third year of a PhD degree of translation of game localisation (English and Chinese) in Glasgow, Scotland. I am currently looking for remote freelance translation and subtitling jobs in the finance, literature, game, social services, and other general fields.
I have had previous experiences as a translator, subtitle, and basic interpreter in various places including London, China, and from remote positions.
I have participated in the Yeeyan translation Project in 2018, finishing the translation of a classic fiction from English to Chinese (Mainland Mandarin) with my translation team. The experience helped me to learn more about the translation and proofreading practices, translation project managing, as well as other competency skills such as team communication, leadership, problem-solving, and attention to details.
In the past 5 years, I have also been involved in interpreting jobs for local community services and subtitling for documentary producer, Mark Fletcher, in the southwest of England. I gained various experience on different forms of translation jobs and familiarise myself with how the industry works. I can now translate efficiently with high standards and tight deadlines.
I am looking for an internship or freelance jobs as an literary and audiovisual translator, as well as local interpretor in Glasgow or nearby areas. I have had experience using professional CAT tools such as Trados, Memsource, Aegisub, and Ooona.
