현재 각각 14억명 이상의 인구를 거느린 중국과 인도는 지난 70여년 동안 세계 인구 3분의 1 이상을 차지해 왔다.

하지만 2022년을 기점으로 두 ‘인구 대국’은 서로 다른 방향을 향해 달려가게 될 전망이다.

거대한 인구를 성장동력 삼아 ‘세계 최대 공장’ 역할을 담당해왔던 중국은 출생률이 계속 하락하면서 결국 61년 만에 처음 인구가 감소했다.

반면 오는 4월 중국을 제치고 세계 1위 인구 대국으로 올라설 것이 확실시되는 인도는 앞으로 40년 동안 꾸준히 인구가 증가할 것으로 예측된다.

중국과 인도의 인구는 단순한 숫자를 의미하지 않는다. 중국의 인구 감소추세는 중국 경제가 정점을 지나 하강 국면을 맞이할 것이라는 ‘피크 차이나(Peak China)’ 주장에 힘을 실어주고 있다.

China e India, que ambos tienen más de 1,4 mil millones de habitantes, han supuesto/compuesto más de un tercio de la población los últimos 70 años.

Sin embargo, desde 2022 ambos países más poblados del mundo tendrán diferentes futuros.

China, que hasta 2022 ha jugado el papel del mayor productor mundial utilizando a su población como motor de crecimiento, ahora ha visto caer su tasa de natalidad y por tanto ha bajado el número de habitantes por primera vez en 61 años.

En cambio, se prevé que India aumente su población durante los próximos años e, incluso, que llegue a superar la de China el próximo mes de abril.

El número de habitantes de China e India no es solo un problema social sino también económico ya que la tendencia decreciente de la población de China enfatiza la teoría de que su economía ha superado su máximo y ahora va a caer en picado.

Bio

I studied Primary Education Pedagogy and
worked in South Korea for 7 years as a public-school teacher. Since moving to
Spain in 2017, I have learnt Spanish at the University of la Rioja and passed
the Spanish DELE C2 exam in 2022. From 2021 I started offering translation
services to Spanish companies to explain their products to Korean customers
participating in their marketing campaigns in Korea and preparing visits from
Korean clients. With my study background, I am qualified to education materials.
Also, as I am working with manufacturing companies, my specialty is in business
and marketing and since 2022, I have been working as a professional translator in
a translation agency.
