Source text - Spanish PIACENSA, PAOLA Argentina. Nació en 1969. Obtuvo la Licenciatura en Letras en 1995 y realizó el Doctorado en Humanidades y Artes (orientación Literatura) en 2001, en la Universidad Nacional de Rosario. Fue Miembro de la Asociación Internacional de Semiótica (IASS-AIS. Viena, Austria), 1997 – 2000; de la (MLA. New York, U.S.A.), 1998 – 2001; y de la Asociación Internacional de Lectura (I.R.A. Newark, Delaware, U.S.A), desde 1997 a la fecha. Recibió becas de estudio y perfeccionamiento, como la del CONICET (2005-2006). Obtuvo premios como el de la Academia Argentina de Letras en 1994, para graduados en Literatura. Es traductora del inglés. Ejerce la docencia secundaria y universitaria. Ha publicado trabajos sobre temas literarios en Argentina, México y España. Su libro sobre Susan Sontag, basado en un riguroso cotejo de fuentes, pone una vez más en evidencia tanto la claridad como la calidez de su estilo.
Translation - English PIACENSA, PAOLA Argentine. Born in 1969. She received her degree in Liberal Arts in 1995 and a doctorate in Humanities and Arts (with a focus in Literature) in 2001, from the National University of Rosario. She was a member of the International Association for Semiotic Studies (IASS-AIS. Vienna, Austria) 1997 – 2000; the Modern Language Association (MLA, New York, USA 1998 – 2001), and the International Reading Association (I.R.A. Newark, Delaware, USA), from 1997 to date. She was the recipient of advanced studies scholarships, one being from CONICET (2005-2006), and received awards such as that from the Argentine Academy of Arts in 1994 for graduates in Literature. She is an English translator and teaches at secondary and university levels. She has published works on literary topics in Argentina, Mexico and Spain. Her book about Susan Sontag, based on a rigorous comparison of sources, once again demonstrates her clarity as much as the warmth of her style.

I am a native English speaker from the United States currently living in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I am fluent in Spanish and do freelance translation jobs around the city. I am most proud of the international catalog I translated for the Argentine Book Chamber which was used at the Frankfurt International Book Fair in Germany.
