EXPERTISE & EXPERIENCE:
I am an experienced Hmong American translator and interpreter based in the Washington, D.C. area.
My professional experiences ranged from marketing to insurance, from financial services to journalism and real estate. But what I do best is the art of accurate communication through a foreign language: translating and interpreting English/Hmong - Hmong/English.
I founded one of the first Hmong American bilingual newspapers in the U.S., acting as both publisher and editor. I also wrote for the St. Paul Pioneer Press and served as an interpreter and translator for a major series.
I have lived, traveled, and studied in various Hmong communities, including those in Laos and Thailand, and I have acquired a broad sense of the diversity of Hmong language and cultural contexts.
Since 2002, I have been a licensed real estate agent in the state of Minnesota, serving hundreds of diverse clients, many of whom are Hmong who speak limited English.
In addition to serving as a school, medical, and legal translator and interpreter for many years, I am also a Hmong history and cultural trainer and consultant.

HMONG LANGUAGE AT A GLANCE:
There are many unique dialects in the Hmong language as spoken by some 5 million people in parts of China, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, including more than 400,000 in the U.S., Canada, France, Australia, and South America. I am fluent and can translate or interpret for the Green and White Hmong dialects.
