My name is Miguel Santos-Neves, and I am Comparative Literature graduate student at the University of Texas at Austin. I am in my fourth year of the PhD phase, and I will start writing my dissertation within the next 6 months. It will involve a comparison of the works of Brazilian anthropologist Gilberto Freyre and of French novelist Marcel Proust.

I worked as a translator before coming to graduate school for a company called Update Legal in New York City. It would place me at law firms in the city where I would translate documents from Portuguese, Spanish, and French into English.

My hobbies include playing soccer, like any good Brazilian, and reading.
