Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) used in combination with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) improves quality of life, New York Heart Association (NYHA) functional class, and exercise duration in patients with moderate to severe heart failure, ventricular dyssynchrony, and indication for an ICD without interfering with ICD functioning, according to the results of the Multicenter InSync ICD Randomized Clinical Evaluation trial, published in JAMA.
