I provide translation, editing and QC services for French, Spanish and Italian into English and currently work mainly with corporate and financial documents for major international companies such as GDF Suez, Coface, Vallourec, Air Liquide and Natixis. This work covers the scope of the companies' work, from HR to press releases, to shareholder information and beyond.
I also have experience in a range of subjects stemming from the corporate work including energy/renewables, water and waste, insurance, stocks and shares, as well as significant prior experience with automotive texts for companies such as Fiat and Seat and regulatory pharmaceutical documentation.
I hold a BA(Hons) Spanish from the University of Hull and an MA in Translation at the University of Surrey where I achieved distinction.
I have had training in the area of Spanish business, passing the Camera de Comercio exam in 2003, and have studied technical and economic translation throughout my MA.
I worked for one year in-house as a proof reader/terminologist for a translation company and have been freelancing ever since, starting out translating Spanish and Italian and later going back to improve my level of French to add that to my portfolio of languages.
Whilst freelancing, I also spent four years as a P/T tutor (Spanish to English Scientific and Technical translation) for the MA in Translation at the University of Surrey and for the final year as a tutor for the undergraduate Applied Translation module.
