I am currently working as a freelance bidirectional Community Interpreter in the Greater Toronto Area. My language pair is Italian-English. I have highly desirable linguistic skills due to the fact that I have lived, worked and studied for many years in both Canada and Italy.
The areas of community interpreting include:
Workman's Safety Board Insurance, Community Care Access Centre CCAC, Health Care.
The areas of translation include:
Civil Registry, Workman's Safety Board Insurance, Italian government documents.
I am working for Proactiv/911 Translations and Interpreting, and, for Able Translations, both are based in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). (freelance work)
I worked for the NATO U.S. Department of Defense military base in the south of Italy for 19 years as a bilingual Inter-cultural specialist. My role as an ambassador was to bridge the gap between the host country and the sending state by providing linguistic expertise in its verbal and written forms. Translation areas of expertise are: Civil registry documents; employment (job announcements, position descriptions, labour related matters); immigration, military.
I hold an Italian University BA Degree in Modern European languages (Laurea in Lingue e culture moderne europee 2012), a Canadian college post-secondary diploma (in design) earned at Sheridan College, Oakville Campus. I also earned a Cambridge Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) at the British Council school in Rome in 2007. I worked as a part time English language teacher for the Italian Ministry of Education school system in 2004.
I am currently also working as a web content writer for Canadian websites.
