A murder suspect who pleaded guilty before his trial started Tuesday has been sentenced to two years in prison, four years on probation and must pay $6,840n in fines, restitution and assessments.
Thamos Vantroy Fairley, 36, was set to go on trial in Forrest County Circuit Court for aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, murder and three counts of criminal street gang activity when he decided to plead.
Jury selection was in progress when the Beaumont native entered his plea to two of the counts of felony criminal street gang activity.
Circuit Judge Bob Helfrich entered the order Thursday sentencing Fairley. He must serve one year for each count to run consecutively, along with paying a $2,500 fine and $100 assessment to the Mississippi Crime Victims Compensation Program for each.
Helfrich also ordered Fairley to pay $1,640 in restitution to Forrest County for the costs related to the jury that appeared for the trial Tuesday.
He was sentenced to serve five years in the second count, but four will remain suspended upon Fairley's successful completion of four years of probation.
He is one of six Perry County men who were arrested in connection with the death of 18-year-old Larry "Shug" Wilson, Jr,. who died Aug. 2, 2010, from several stab wounds sustained in a fight the night before at Hattiesburg's 21 Truck Stop on U.S. 49.
Hattiesburg police said it was gang related.
Fairley, along with Quintell Avis Turner, Leonard Ray Box, Marvin Bolton, Andre Madrell Carter and Kim Jermal Hayes, were all charged with murder following an investigation.
A Forrest County grand jury later added the charges of conspiracy to commit murder and felony street gang activity.
The other five suspects pleaded guilty in 2012 to the gang activity charge.
Helfrich gave each one of the five identical sentences: 10 years in Mississippi Department of Corrections' custody, with five to serve in prison and the remaining five suspended on the successful completion of five years of probation.
Each must also pay a $2,500 fine and a $100 special assessment to the Mississippi Crime Victims Compensation Fund.
The remaining counts on the indictment the five suspects share will be passed to the inactive files, via the sentencing orders.
A bench warrant was issued for Fairley under his previous three-count indictment July 16 for failing to show up for his monthly sign-in.
Fairley was arrested Aug. 10 and served his new, six-count indictment.
Thursday's sentencing order passes the remaining counts to the inactive files.

Los otros cincos sospechos se declaran cupables en 2012 al cargo de la actividad de pandilla.
Helfrich le dio de los cincos condenadas idénticas: 10 años en la custodia del departamento del correccional de Misípi, con 5 años de cumplir en cárcel y los 5 años que quedaban condanar con éxito y conclusión de años de la libertad condicional.
Todos tambien debe pagar una multa de $2.500 e una valoración especial de $100 para las victimas de criminales de Misípi.
Los cargos restantes en la acusación de los cincos sospechos pasará a los expedientes inactivos, por los cargos condenandos.
Un orden de aprehensión fue ordenado por Fairley debajo de su dos cargos acusación previo en el 16 de July por le falta presentar su registra mensual.
Fairley fue detenido el 10 de agosto y cumplió su nueva acusación de seis cargos.
La pena orden en el jueves pasa los cargos quedados en los expedentes.

El presidente de Venezuela, Hugo Chávez, se prepara para viajar a La Habana en las próximas horas para continuar con su tratamiento médico contra el cáncer en una nueva fase en la que se someterá a quimioterapia. Tras recibir la autorización de la Asemblea Nacional, Chávez ha dicho que viajará en las próximas horas a Cuba "para continuar, más bien para iniciar, lo que hemos llamado la segunda etapa de este proceso lento y complejo de recuperación que va bien". Pero antes de irse quiere dejar las cosas bien asentadas.
Es por ello que en una de sus tradicionales cadenas de radio y televisión ha anunciado que otorga algunos poderes a su vicepresident, Elías Jaua, aunque no todo el control del Gobierno. Entre esos poderes está el de continuar con las polémicas expropiaciones de propiedades privadas, según informa la prensa local. Asimismo, ha dado a su ministro de Finanzas, Jorge Giordani, la potestad de tomar medidas relaciones con temas presupuestarios.
El presidente ha aprovechado su alocución para pedir al poder Judicial que otorgue "beneficios" a pacientes con cáncer o en estado crítico de salud, entre los que se encuentran la juez María Lourdes Afiuni y varios opositores, como el enviarlos a sus casas para que "reciban el tratamiento que necesitan".
QUIMIOTERAPIA
"Esta segunda etapa comenzará en los próximos días con aplicació de quimioterapia (...) y estoy seguro de que la segunda etapa contribuirá a seguir por el camino de la recuperación", ha dicho Chávez al leer una cara, tras agradecer al equipo de médicos cubanos y venezolanos que le asisten. El mandatario venezolano fue operado el pasado 20 de junio en La Habana para extirparle un tumor cancerígeno y recibe tratamiento médico para superar esa enfermadad.
Chavez ha recordado que esa primera fase implicó su permanencia fuera del país durante prácticamente un mes, más allá de lo previsto, ha dicho, en alusión al permiso que le había otorgado entonces la Asamblea Nacional para realizar una gira por la región que le llevó por Brasil, Ecuador y Cuba. "Ahora debo proseguir el camino hacia ese largo retorno", ha indicado el presidente, al destacar "esta voluntad de vivir, de vivir para nuestro pueblo, vivir para mis hijos, mis nietos, vivir para mi mismo".
En la carta, leída desde el Palacio de Gobierno donde despidió al presidente electo de Perú, Ollanta Humala, Chávez había solicitado la autorización a salir del país de acuerdo con lo previsto en la Constitucióndel país, la cual fue aprobado por unanimidad por la Asamblea (Parlamento).
A pesar de las recomendaciones médicas de que bajara el ritmo de trabajo, Chávez ha recibido al mandatario electo de Perú, Ollanta Humala, en una reunión para estrechar lazos de "hermanidad" y consolidar "un mismo futuro", segun han declarado ambos líderes. "Creo con viva esperanza que esta amistad que vamos cultivando, que esta hermandad que estamos consolidando, justamente nos lleva hacia lo que usted ha dicho: un mismo futuro", ha dicho Humala en el palacio presidencial de Miraflores, en donde ha sido recibido por Chávez con honores de jefe de Estado.
Con este anuncio del presidente venezolano quedan desmentidas las informaciones publicadas horas antes por la prensa brasileña que decían que Chávez había escogido Brasil para tratarse de su cáncer, la misma clínica en donde la presidenta brasileña fue tratada en 2009.

Through tradition, TV and radio stations have announced that he will give some power to his Vice President, Elías Jaua, although not total government control. The Venezuelan head of state had surgery last June 20th in Havana to remove a carcinogenic tumor and received medical treatment for this sickness.
Chávez recalled that this first stage involved him staying outside the country for nearly a month, longer than predicted, he had said, referring to the permission that had been granted to him then by the National Assembly to take a regional tour that took him through Brazil, Ecuador, and Cuba. "Now I must continue the journey toward this long road to return", the President indicated, emphasizing, "this will to live, living for our country, living for my children, my grandchildren, living for myself".
In the letter, read from the Governor's Palace where he fired the President-elect from Perú, Ollanta Humala, Chávez has requested for the authorization to leave the country in agreement with provisions in the country's constitution, which was approved unanimously by the Assembly (Parliament).
Despite the medical recommendations of the decreasing the workload, Chávez has met with the Head of State elect of Peru, Ollanta Humala, in a meeting to strengthen the ties of "brotherhood" and to strengthen "one future", as announced by both leaders. "I believe with living hope, this friendship we are growing, this brotherhood we are strengthening, just takes us toward what you have said: 'one future', Humala said in the Presidential Palace in Miraflores, where Chávez has been welcomed with Head of State honors.
With this announcement, the Venezuelan president has denied published information hours before through the Brazilian press that said Chávez had chosen Brazil for the treatment of his cancer, the same clinic where the Brazilian president was treated in 2009.
