Source text - German Am 01.
Inmitten eines hochrangigen Line-Up internationaler Modedesigner
365 Tage andauernden, Anniversary Year. Die Runway Show mündet in einer Anniversary Reception.
Ab 11 Uhr werden im Palm Court Ballsaal des Hotel de Rome ausgewählte Gäste und Partner
empfangen.
1989 bringt
beiden Bedeutendes, den Beginn von etwas Neuem“, sagt Chefdesignerin und „Heart of the Company“
D****e S*****r.
anzumelden.
Translation - English On 1 July 2009 in Berlin S*****R will be opening the fifth Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and also celebrating its 20th business anniversary.
Mannheim, 29 June 2009. The S*****R international fashion label will be opening the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin with its Spring / Summer Collection 2010. The company is thus once again the first to host this established show. As a prelude to the collection presentations, high-ranking guests from the media and the cultural world will be awaited at the Bebelplatz on 1 July 2009 at 10:00 am. The family-owned enterprise is marking its 20th year in business with the Berlin Fashion Show and the subsequent Anniversary Reception and will be presenting friends and partners with a year full of highlights.
S*****R is a globally active fashion business represented in more than 40 countries as well as 600 leading fashion houses. With a yearly increase in its international clientele, the German label will be presenting its Spring / Summer Collection 2010 before a high-ranking line-up of international fashion designers. The take-over of the opening show at the Bebelplatz is characteristic of S*****R’s forward-moving corporate strategy.
The summer creations for 2010 adhere to the accustomed S*****R balance of power. The Collection, inspired in equal measure by the radiance of the future and perennial values, breaks through urbane glitz with winsome yet unconventional functionality. New colour creations such as Camellia White, Whisper Blue and Rock’n’Rose stand in contrast to the true values of the raw materials; the high-tech accessories to the immortal bow. Over two decades the bow has been the fabric metaphor for a gift as well as the exclusive S*****R signet for its own particular manner of skilful breaks with style.
Following 20 years in business S*****R launches with the Fashion Week the festivities of a distinctive Anniversary Year set to last a full 365 days. The Runway Show will segue into an Anniversary Reception. Selected guests and partners will be received in the Palm Court Ballroom of the Hotel de Rome from 11:00 am onwards.
“There is more that binds Berlin and S*****R together than is apparent at first glance. 1989 was a landmark year for both, the beginning of something new”, says Chief Designer and ‘Heart of the Company’ D*****e S*****r. She loves Berlin not only as a showcase for international presentations and receptions for her guests but also as a ‘sister in spirit’. “Just like the capital, S*****R has also long been celebrated abroad, while back at home the richly faceted potential of both has only been recognised over the past few years. The surprises of the Anniversary Year will ensure that many more hear of this.”
The company will be providing further details of the highlights of the S*****R Anniversary Year by invitation as well as on its homepage.
Interested members of the press are invited to register with the corporate publicity department for the Anniversary Reception on 1 July as well as the subsequent arrangements for the company’s celebrations.
