I have been working in the localisation industry for the past 20 years, both as a freelance translator and within two of the largest localisation companies in the world, LionBridge Technologies and SDL, before becoming a freelance translator in order to be able to give my clients all the time and attention they need.
I have a deep knowledge of what translation entails, of the fact that a translated text should feel like it was originally written in that language and never translated. Precision and Detail orientation are one of my fortes and I am a fast learner.
For me, a translation should be useful, it should help make a difference for a company or a non governmental organisation, helping them reach their goal.
A language is not only a way of communicating, but reflects a way of thinking. The job of the translator, uneasy as it seems, is to convey into a language, the way of thinking of another one.
I work mostly on technical projects (automotive, heavy machinery, debitmeters, pumps, civil engineering, machine tools, etc.), but I also handle nature and environment related translations, marketing translations and other more general translations (for example I translated the 3000 cocktails bible and its update (difford's guide))
I now also offer services in xls (formulas creation and management, creation of graphs, etc.) and powerpoint presentation creation and layouting.
My clients appreciate me mostly for my speed and punctuality as well as for the quality and consistency of my translations.
