Professional practices Anna Zahorska endorses's Professional Guidelines.

I am a Czech native speaker who has been living in the UK for the past 17 years. Living in the country of the language that I translate from gave me a unique opportunity to expand my knowledge of the dialects, slang and idiomatic expressions.

I have studied both Czech language and English at a university level. My BA studies in English literature at University of London focused on different approaches to reading, text analysis and interpretation, literary criticism and literary theory. Czech language studies at University of Ostrava gave me a thorough grounding in Czech grammar and stylistics.

I am passionate about making content available to others and often contribute my translation as a volunteer to TED Talks, Coursera, Global Voices and Translators Without Borders.

I hold a postgraduate level Diploma in Translation (DipTrans) from Institute of Linguists Educational Trust (semi-specialised units: Literature, Science).
