English to Spanish: 2011 Healthcare Insurance Plans - letter to employee General field: Bus/Financial Detailed field: Human Resources
Source text - English August 5, 2010
Dear Employee:
The purpose of this letter is to provide you with information about our 2011 Healthcare Insurance Plans.
Every year, our employees have the option to change their healthcare coverage during the "open enrollment period." This year, that period will be between September 6 and December 31, 2010. During this time employees receive plan information, have an opportunity to ask questions about their choices, and are able to enroll, if they wish. Employees also are able to drop or add dependents, sign up for a dental plan or choose a different medical plan.
Once enrolled, your coverage will begin on January 1, 2011 and will end on December 31, 2011.
We are pleased to inform you that the 2011 benefits plan will include the option to enroll Domestic Partners. A Domestic Partner is defined as a person of the same sex or opposite sex living together with the employee in a committed relationship with the intention of remaining in the relationship indefinitely. It is important to note that this new benefit has very strict eligibility rules. For example, a roommate or someone who is simply sharing living space with an employee does not meet the eligibility requirements. The Domestic Partner Eligibility Rules are listed on the attached Enrollment Application.
Likewise, we are pleased to inform you that our company has decided to improve the eligibility rules for dependent children. In 2010, coverage for dependent children ceased at the time they turned 18. Starting in the year 2011, dependent children will be covered until they reach 20 years of age, and if they are full time students, the dependents can continue receiving healthcare insurance coverage until age 25.
Please review the attached packet of information and, if you have any questions, do not hesitate to call our friendly Employee Service Representatives at (xxx) xxx-xxxx.
Sincerely,
Employee Service Departament

Estimado Empleado:
Atentamente,
Departamento de Servicio al Empleado
