Hello, my name is Rachel Dryden and I have been working as a translator mainly in the field of religious studies and philosophy in the language pair German/English since 2010.
I have a BA (Hons) degree in German, French and Italian from Durham University, UK (2006), a MA in Near and Middle Eastern Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of Lonodn (2009), for which I also studied Arabic, and a second MA degree from both the Institute for Jewish Studies at the University of Heidelberg, Germany and the Karl-Franzens University in Graz, Austria which also involved studying Hebrew and Yiddish.
I mainly translate academic papers for publication or presentation but I have also done general administrative documentation such as examination regulations, e-mail/websites and press releases. I also proof-read university essays etc. in English.
I am a native English speaker but have lived and worked in Austria, France, Germany and Italy. Since August 2009 I have been mainly based in Germany with a short stint in Austria. I also currently teach English and French here in Germany. |
