I specialise in translation where a high standard of fluent and imaginative English is important. I have translated numerous magazines articles, historical texts, academic articles and some literature, along with more commercial work such as website localisation, surveys, corporate reports and marketing texts. I have worked with high profile clients in Turkey and the UK and am happy to provide samples and references. I am a member of the ITI affiliated North West Translators' Network and the Collective of Women Writers and Translators. In 2015, I attended the Cunda Workshops for Translators of Turkish Literature organised by Boğaziçi University’s Department of Translation and Interpreting Studies, under the sponsorship of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. I was also a winner in the English PEN Translates literary translation competition in 2015 for my submission from the Ahmet Yorulmaz novel, Savaşın Çocukları, which is due to be published in 2019. I participated in the Translating Theatre: 'Foreignisation' on Stage Symposium at Europe House in London in 2016. In 2018, I translated a short story for the Istanbul International Literary Festival and in 2019, I participated in the Computer Aided Literary Translation workshops at Swansea University. I am a member of the North West Translators Network, the Institute of Translators and Interpretors and The Society of Authors Translators Association.
