Source text - English Rovereto, 1769. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, invitato dall'allora Commissario di frontiera Giuseppe Nicolò Cristiani Rall, si reca a Rovereto in visita col padre. Inizia così, con un concerto nella Chiesa di San Marco il 26 dicembre di quell'anno, il legame eccellente fra la figura del grande compositore salisburghese e la città lagarina, che nel XVIII secolo viene citata al pari di Vienna, Salisburgo e Milano.
Un legame profondo, che ha dato come suo più interessante frutto, la nascita di un Festival musicale interamente dedicato a Mozart.
Il Festival Mozart di Rovereto nasce nel 1987, dalla forte volontà della cittadina trentina di ricordare per sempre la presenza del compositore salisburghese, valorizzando i luoghi stessi in cui Mozart suonò e soggiornò, insieme alla felice intuizione delle amministrazioni locali, di fare della Vallagarina - terra di confine e di incontri - ancor più luogo di mescolanza di sensibilità diverse.
