Bio
I was born of bilingual (English - Spanish) parents of European Spanish descent. Thus, it can be said that I learned to speak both languages simultaneously. Formal education was a bit staggered, i.e., Spanish first letters first at grammar school level and Englsh ones following at middle level. High school was bilingual for 2 years and in English for 2 years. College was nominally in English but included all possible credits in Spanish literature.

Thereafter, language experience was always bilingual working as employee of American and British employers in Venezuela and the UK. Further on, self-employed activity as a consultant and management contractor was intensly bilingual language-driven. In 1988 I started part-time translation work in Venezuela for the legal and industrial sector. I started full time translation and interpretation work in 1997 for the 11th Judicial Circuit of Florida. During that period I became certified as a translator and interpreter in the bidirectional Spanish-English language pairs by the Circuit and by the Administraor of the Florida Courts. I scored 90% in the Spanish to English Federal language test and XX% in the English to Spanish but declined testing orally. This lasted till 2006, when I became an independent freelance translator.

I credit my intense experience as bilingual corporate executive, organizational researcher, business consultant, part-time paralegal, and management contractor to be the true foundation of my language proficiency today. I also have a well stacked library of dictionaries in my main areas of expertese: legal, technical and eco/finance/business.

I welcome opportunities to demonstrate my level as a translator and let the resulta speak for themselves. Res ipsa loquitur!
