This summer I passed the DPSI (Diploma in Public Service Interpreting, law path) with excellent grades. I studied at the Middlesex University, London, UK. It is the gold standard diploma valid in England and Wales that enables you to translate and interpret in legal setting: courts, tribunals, police stations for example. I am qualified in French to English and English to French.

In 2020, 2022 and 2023, I took the very prestigious examinations of French translators and French interpreters at the United Nations, based in New York with my languages combinations native French, English, Russian. Despite hard work and high motivation, I did not pass all the selections.
Who am I?
My name is Nathalie Reuzé, I am a native French translator and certified interpreter, associate member of the Association of Community Interpreters (ACIS) and associate member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL) and member of the Association of Court and Police Interpreters (ACPI). I specialised in Slavic languages, graduated in Foreign Applied Languages and obtained my MA in Russian and English translations in 1995.
I was born in Nantes, Brittany, France, where I grew up. I left my home town when I turned eighteen years old to keep studying Russian at university level. During my studies, I was very keen to travel abroad. Therefore I applied for a one term university exchange programme at Oklahoma University (USA). After completed my exchange programme studies I applied for a job at the University library and worked for two months. From Oklahoma University, I was subsequently selected to study Spanish at the University of Guadalajara in Mexico. Back to Europe in 1992, I obtained scholarships to study Polish, Slovak and Russian respectively at the University of Wroclaw, Bratislava and Lomonosov in Moscow. At that time I was offered the position of translator and interpreter to the French Consul at the French Embassy in Moscow. This unique experience was a great opportunity to gain expertise and hone my skills in Russian translating and interpreting, in particular during these difficult years of political instability. I lived two years in Moscow.
I have always been interested in languages and have seen it as an open window to other cultures and different ways of thinking. I like this diversity. I enjoy the challenge of bridging the gap between several cultures.
I have lived in The Hague area in the Netherlands for more than twenty years. I work as a freelance translator job and also hold a staff position at the European Space Agency as the organiser of the ESA expert lectures. I interact daily with engineers and scientists specialised in the outer space and its applications. I organise monthly internal conferences of space experts. I am also well integrated in the translation and interpreting industry.
Furthermore, I am seconded from the CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) to ESA.
Besides I am fond of History. Since my childhood I have always wanted to become an archaeologist or medievalist. I like Art, Belles-lettres and enjoy passing on my knowledge to passionate audience.
