I was born in Liverpool in England and, following my studies at the University of Leeds, I graduated with a BA in German and Italian in 2010. I have been living and working in Munich since January 2012. I first moved to Munich to teach English in the automotive industry and since February 2013 I have been working as a freelance translator specialising in technical patent work. I am, however, keen on branching out into other translation work as well and I hold a particular interest in sport and especially football.
To date, I have translated numerous engineering patents held by various companies including Robert Bosch GmbH, Siemens, Osram GmbH, Lukas Hydraulik GmbH and Continental Automotive GmbH and am lucky enough to work closely with and be mentored by a relative of mine who has many years’ experience in leading a translation agency in Liverpool before she left to work as a freelance translator.
All of my work is second checked by my colleague who is a member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting and the Chartered Institute of Linguists and together my colleague and I hold over 20 years of experience in the translation industry. |
