1.1 An armature may be tapped along its length with a rawhide or phenolic mallet and will have to maintain all dimensions, features, and requirements per 55-, 6-, 1-, and GM- prints, as applicable, before moving to the next operation. If the armature has a hollow or partially hollow inside diameter, an appropriately-sized pin must be plugged into the armature bore before tapping.
1.2 Figures 1 shows this process. The armature should be held flat on the Stressing Block (74-1586-TAB) during tapping.
