English to Portuguese: Device Pulls Water From dry air, Powered Only By The Sun General field: Science
Source text - English While it's easy to condense water from humid air, machines that harvest water from drier air require energy. Researchers have created the first water harvester that uses only ambient sunlight. The key component is an extremely porous material called a metal-organic framework that absorbs 20 percent of its weight in water from low-humidity air. Sunlight heats the MOF, releasing the water vapor, which condenses to produce liters of water per day.

Experience
Years of experience: 9. Registered at ProZ.com: Apr 2017.
I am a Brazilian, nineteen years old, recently admitted in the Federal University of the State of Minas Gerais to study electrical engineering. I have worked as a researcher for the past 2 years at the Federal Institute of Science and Technology of the State of Paraíba, Brazil, and as Informal English teacher to students of that same school. Regarding my intent to work as a translator by PROZ and my experience in the English-Portuguese pair: I have an uncle and cousin who are both translators, and my grandmother was a translator and English/French teacher. My father and his two brothers have studied in American School for several years. Both of my uncles, my parents and grandparents are fluent in English, which allowed me to learn the language in advanced level, and consequently I could to work for the past 3 year as a freelancer online english teacher for High School Students, freelancer translator of Scientific Articles on research group meetings and freelancer checker and editor of academic works writing in portuguese or english languages. I intend to take proficiency tests soon to improve my translator credentials, but I have a lot of experience reading, writing, speaking and teaching English. I am sure I could contribute with PROZ’s translation jobs and its Clients around the world. Thank you for this opportunity.
