Bio
Some twenty years ago, I cherished the project to become a translator.

With no other academic qualification than the french "Baccalauréat" (in science), I went on to start a new life in the UK.
At first, I passed the Cambridge advanced certificate in English so that I could attend to a degree course for translators/interpreters at the University.

At the time, my finances were scarce and made it impossible for me, to complete the course.
I had no other otion than to drop out after the successful completion of the first Ba(Hons) degree's year.
It also meant to find a steady source of income through hopping from jobs to jobs in the catering and hotel industry.
During that time (thirteen years altogether), I kept on reading all the materials I could lay my hands on, and, bit by bit, I acquired new linguistics skills and even seized the opportunity to act, just for one day, as an interpreter (simultaneous) to a group of people visiting the Houses of Parliament at Westminster.

Around four years ago, - when, after completing a travelling bout in most European countries, I finally got back to France from my travels-, I validated once more my abilities to use english professionally by taking the DCL exam (diplôme de compétence en langues) and giving private lessons to children and students.
Since I was successful at both, I took stock of the situation and decided to give another try at my initial project- that is translation work.

My adventure starts, right here and right now.
In need to find my "niche" and more importantly a first significant experience, I translate one text
after the other, particpate in the transcription/ subtitling projects in the Ted community, take tests from various agencies I had contacted earlier on...

In a nut-shell: I am really keen on putting into practice the best of my abilities in order to end up with translations that do not give the recipients the impression that they have been translated in the first place.
