Source text - English The huge mass of information gathered for this book, could, in fact, fill a library and I owe many people and institutions a gratitude of thanks for their expertise, advice, and guidance.
The historical riches of the Zeitungsabteilung at the glorious Westhafen docks in Berlin provided a unique source for original and rare periodicals – and access to the Volkisher Beobacher and Der Angriff – which was essential to this work. The Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin on Potsdamer Platz, and the archives at Friedrichstrasse were equally important in my research. Special mention must also be made to the staff at the British Library Newspaper Archives in London, and the staff at the Imperial War Museum and National Library. Expert assistance on various issues was provided by the Kölnisches Stadtmuseum, Gedenkstätte und Museum Sachsenhausen, along with the Die Gedenkstätte für Zwangsarbeit in Leipzig.
