I am a Mechanical Engineering, obtained my bachelor's degree in Venezuela and worked there for 10 years, so I am a native Spanish speaker. Since 1999, my wife and I have lived in the US, where I got my master's, also in Mechanical Engineering, in 2008. I have worked for 27 years, not counting unemployed periods, in seven different industries (automotive, petroleum, pharmaceutical, fire protection, aeronautical, a DOE national laboratory, and a nuclear power plant). In Venezuela I worked in four different cities, and in the US I lived 11 years in Miami, FL and currently 9 years in Newport News, VA. I have worked also as a volunteer with several organizations, including tour guide at a historical museum in Newport News. So, combining all my jobs, paid and unpaid, and places where I have worked and lived, I have a wide spectrum of professional, labor, business, cultural and geographical perspectives. I have read multiple novels and magazine articles in both Spanish and English, and have written multiples reports for college and work, in both languages. I consider that my writing skills, together with my grammar and spelling, are excellent in both languages. |
