Source text - English [artist] was unstoppable in 1996. His debut album, "Albumtitle", had come out the year before, setting a new bar for Detroit techno’s experimental possibilities; he would release the even more ambitious "Albumtitle 2" in 1997. Smack in between those two landmark albums came his "Special" mix—the second in the series, after [artist 2] installment in late 1995. “I could only think of a compilation in the way of what I'd been influenced by, so I was slashing [artist 3] on the floor with a tape machine, a turntable, and a razor blade, and cutting tape and doing this mix by hand,” [artist] tells [company name]. “My mix was more about what the technical possibilities were. It was a true musical production. It really felt like a [artist] album in comparison to a [artist] mix.” If there’s an implicit theme here, it’s the way that Detroit techno’s influence was spreading across the globe in the mid-’90s, coloring all kinds of scenes in its high-tech image.

Und so habe ich [Künstler 3] auf dem Boden mit einem Tape-Gerät, einem Plattenspieler und einer Rasierklinge aufgeschlitzt, das Band geschnitten und diesen Mix von Hand gemacht“, erzählt [Künstler] bei [Unternehmen]. „Bei meinem Mix ging es mehr um die technischen Möglichkeiten. Es war eine echte musikalische Produktion. Es fühlte sich tatsächlich wie ein [Künstler]-Album anstatt eines [Künstler]-Mix an.“ Wenn es hier ein eindeutiges Konzept gibt, dann ist es die Art und Weise, wie sich der Einfluss von Detroit-Techno Mitte der 90er Jahre über den ganzen Globus ausbreitete und alle möglichen Bereiche mit seinem High-Tech-Image färbte.
