Abstract
Innate lymphoid cells (ILCs) were originally classified based on their cytokine profiles, placing natural killer (NK) cells and ILC1s together, but recent studies support their separation into different lineages at steady-state. However, tumors may induce NK cell conversion into ILC1-like cells that are limited to the tumor microenvironment and whether this conversion occurs beyond this environment remains unknown. Here, we describe Toxoplasma gondii infection converts NK cells into ILC1-like cells that are distinct from both steady-state NK cells and ILC1s in uninfected mice. These cells were Eomes-dependent, indicating that NK cells can give rise to Eomes– Tbet-dependent ILC1-like cells that circulate widely and persist independent of ongoing infection. Moreover, these changes appear permanent, as supported by epigenetic analyses. Thus, these studies markedly expand current concepts of NK cells, ILCs, and their potential conversion.

Introduction
Innate lymphoid cells (ILCs) comprise diverse populations. Like T and B cells, they are derived from common lymphoid progenitors (CLPs) but do not undergo antigen receptor recombination (Spits and Cupedo, 2012). ILCs are tissue-resident within mucosal sites where they participate in tissue homeostasis and survey for pathogens (Sojka et al., 2014a; Gasteiger et al., 2015), although recent studies showed that inflammation can induce ILC2 mobilization (Huang et al., 2018). ILC classification was initially based on their cytokine production, with type 1 ILCs (ILC1s) producing IFNγ, ILC2s producing IL-5 and IL-13, and ILC3s producing IL-17 and IL-22. ILC classification was subsequently corroborated by distinctive markers and developmental requirements.

Abstracto

English to Spanish: How Does the Forex Market Work? General field: Bus/Financial Detailed field: Economics
Source text - English How Does the Forex Market Work?
The foreign exchange market, most commonly known as the Forex market, is home to the global decentralized trading of international currencies–specifically where trillions of U.S. dollars are traded each day. If you need Japanese yen, you buy it through the Forex market. Participants trade not in one huge platform but rather through electronic communication networks (ECNs) or phone networks in different markets across the globe. Dubbed by investopedia.com as the largest financial market in the world, the forex market works round the clock five days a week: from Sunday (5 p.m. EST) to Friday (4 p.m. EST). It is also the most fluid and most accessible market because of its scope and size. But how does this huge market really work? And why is there a need to trade currencies?
What is the Forex market for?
The Forex market mainly exists because of the need to ease or facilitate currency exchange. There is a need to exchange currencies because one country’s currency is not accepted in another. Currencies are needed everywhere to facilitate trade of goods and services. Multinational corporations need to trade currencies for paying off goods and services they buy from foreign vendors. They also trade currencies for paying salaries of employees in their foreign offices, and for their merger and acquisition activities. Travelers exchange currencies to be able to travel to places. If you are an American wanting to tour Spain, for instance, your US dollars have to be exchanged for Euros at the prevailing rate first before you can proceed with your travel.
But this purpose of the FX market takes only 20 percent of the trade volume. The 80 percent serves speculative moves by multibillion dollar hedge funds, financial institutions, and individuals. A central bank, for instance, aims to stabilize its country’s currency by participating in the Forex market as it needs to maintain a relative value of its currency vis-à-vis other currencies.
English to Spanish: Stars General field: Science Detailed field: Astronomy & Space
Source text - English Stars
Stars are the most widely recognized astronomical objects and represent the most fundamental building blocks of galaxies. The age, distribution, and composition of the stars in a galaxy trace the history, dynamics, and evolution of that galaxy. Moreover, stars are responsible for the manufacture and distribution of heavy elements such as carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen, and their characteristics are intimately tied to the characteristics of the planetary systems that may coalesce about them. Consequently, the study of the birth, life, and death of stars is central to the field of astronomy.
Star Formation
Stars are born within the clouds of dust and scattered throughout most galaxies. A familiar example of such as a dust cloud is the Orion Nebula. Turbulence deep within these clouds gives rise to knots with sufficient mass that the gas and dust can begin to collapse under its own gravitational attraction. As the cloud collapses, the material at the center begins to heat up. Known as a protostar, it is this hot core at the heart of the collapsing cloud that will one day become a star. Three-dimensional computer models of star formation predict that the spinning clouds of collapsing gas and dust may break up into two or three blobs; this would explain why the majority the stars in the Milky Way are paired or in groups of multiple stars.
As the cloud collapses, a dense, hot core forms and begins gathering dust and gas. Not all of this material ends up as part of a star — the remaining dust can become planets, asteroids, or comets or may remain as dust.
In some cases, the cloud may not collapse at a steady pace. In January 2004, an amateur astronomer, James McNeil, discovered a small nebula that appeared unexpectedly near the nebula Messier 78, in the constellation of Orion. When observers around the world pointed their instruments at McNeil's Nebula, they found something interesting — its brightness appears to vary. Observations with NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory provided a likely explanation: the interaction between the young star's magnetic field and the surrounding gas causes episodic increases in brightness.
Main Sequence Stars
A star the size of our Sun requires about 50 million years to mature from the beginning of the collapse to adulthood. Our Sun will stay in this mature phase (on the main sequence as shown in the Hertzsprung-Russell Diagram) for approximately 10 billion years.
Stars are fueled by the nuclear fusion of hydrogen to form helium deep in their interiors. The outflow of energy from the central regions of the star provides the pressure necessary to keep the star from collapsing under its own weight, and the energy by which it shines.
As shown in the Hertzsprung-Russell Diagram, Main Sequence stars span a wide range of luminosities and colors, and can be classified according to those characteristics. The smallest stars, known as red dwarfs, may contain as little as 10% the mass of the Sun and emit only 0.01% as much energy, glowing feebly at temperatures between 3000-4000K. Despite their diminutive nature, red dwarfs are by far the most numerous stars in the Universe and have lifespans of tens of billions of years.
On the other hand, the most massive stars, known as hypergiants, may be 100 or more times more massive than the Sun, and have surface temperatures of more than 30,000 K. Hypergiants emit hundreds of thousands of times more energy than the Sun, but have lifetimes of only a few million years. Although extreme stars such as these are believed to have been common in the early Universe, today they are extremely rare - the entire Milky Way galaxy contains only a handful of hypergiants.

Conclusions: Today, Chile plays an important role in the development and commercial application of bioleaching to copper ores. This background information allows predicting a brilliant future for this technology in Chile, as has been forecasted in the last years.
Introduction
Bioleaching of minerals is the oxidative selective solubilization of mineral species mediated by the action of microorganisms. Different alternative names are also used, such a bacterial leaching, microbial leaching, and biooxidation, all of them part of what is known as biohydrometallurgy or biomining. This process allows the treatment of insoluble sulphides and insoluble oxides via hydrometallurgy, as opposed to the more traditional technology of pyrometallurgy. Bioleaching presents the following advantages as compared with pyrometallurgy: simple and low cost equipments, apt for treating low grade or waste ores, low energy requirement, and no atmospheric contamination. Its main disadvantages are low reaction rates and productivities, requirement of extensive grounds, and current inadequacy for treating primary sulphides.
