Il CdS magistrale in "Traduzione specialistica" (classe LM-94) è finalizzato alla formazione di una figura professionale con elevate competenze traduttive nelle due lingue scelte, con particolare riferimento ai linguaggi specialistici (tecnico-scientifico, giuridico, economico, turistico-culturale e altro), nonché con competenze in ambito terminologico e terminografico sulla base di un'approfondita preparazione linguistica e di una idonea conoscenza nelle culture cui afferiscono le lingue di studio. I laureati sapranno utilizzare gli ausili informatici e telematici indispensabili all'esercizio della professione di traduttore. Tali competenze sono specificamente indirizzate a imprese, società, istituzioni ed enti pubblici e privati, nazionali e internazionali, e utilizzabili nell'ambito della didattica e della ricerca. Più specificamente i laureati in "Traduzione specialistica" dovranno conseguire i seguenti obiettivi operativi e possedere le seguenti competenze e capacità relativi alle due lingue oggetto di studio: - approfondita preparazione nella teoria e nelle tecniche della traduzione; - approfondita conoscenza delle particolarità dei linguaggi settoriali e delle relative culture disciplinari; - elevate competenze nella traduzione, cui possono aggiungersi forme di elaborazione e adattamento professionale di testi in ambito interlinguistico e interculturale; - capacità di utilizzare gli ausili informatici e telematici indispensabili alla professione del traduttore e di utilizzare gli strumenti di ricerca e di documentazione tradizionali e informatizzati, mirati in particolare al reperimento di informazioni nella rete, alla realizzazione di glossari, all'utilizzo di tecnologie CAT (Computer Assisted Translation) e dei corpora linguistici, delle memorie di traduzione, ed alla gestione di informazioni; - capacità di concepire, gestire e valutare progetti articolati di traduzione in cui intervengano diverse competenze linguistiche ed operative distribuite su più persone. Ai fini indicati il corso di laurea comprende, nella durata dei due anni previsti, attività caratterizzanti destinate ad approfondire i seguenti ambiti: - Nell’ambito linguistico, relativo ai settori delle lingue e traduzioni straniere, le attività saranno finalizzate allo studio di due lingue straniere, in ottica contrastiva e in ambiti specialistici diversi (giuridico, economico, tecnico-scientifico, turistico-culturale, ecc.). La competenza raggiunta, unitamente allo studio approfondito dei principi della traduzione, sarà attestazione sia della conoscenza e dell’acquisizione di tecniche della traduzione specifiche del settore scelto, sia della conoscenza e capacità di gestione degli strumenti di traduzione assistita più comuni con i software attualmente più diffusi; - Nell’ambito culturale, relativo ai settori delle letterature/culture straniere, le attività saranno finalizzate all’ottenimento di un’approfondita conoscenza delle culture afferenti alle lingue oggetto di studio; - Nell’ambito informatico, relativo al settore dell’Informatica, le attività previste consentiranno l’acquisizione di competenze di informatica avanzata e di informatica legata al campo specifico della traduzione specialistica, con competenze nella creazione e gestione di software linguistici e terminologici, di memorie di traduzione, di banche dati; - Nell’ambito delle scienze del linguaggio, che comprende attività nei settori della Linguistica, della Didattica delle lingue straniere e della Filosofia del Linguaggio, le attività saranno finalizzate alla conoscenze dei principi della linguistica applicata e della teoria e storia della traduzione, con approfondimenti di semiotica della traduzione. Si mira all'acquisizione di competenze in merito alle scelte stilistiche e all'analisi del discorso nelle sue diverse modalità di realizzazione; attività dedicate all'acquisizione di tecniche di documentazione, redazione, cura e revisione dei testi. Lo svolgimento dell'attività didattica avviene mediante lezioni frontali, esercitazioni, attività di autoapprendimento di laboratorio linguistico. Sono previsti interventi e workshop da parte di conferenzieri e attività seminariali in collaborazione con docenti di altri atenei, anche stranieri ed esperti della professione. Sono previste inoltre attività di tirocinio presso aziende anche editoriali e agenzie di traduzione. La prova finale, un esercizio originale e di elevato impegno, può avere connessioni con l’esperienza di tirocinio.
Conoscenza e comprensione. Il percorso di studi in "Traduzione specialistica" mira a formare laureati che possiedano competenze traduttive elevate, con una preferenza per la forma scritta, in due lingue scelte tra quelle presenti nell'offerta formativa. Il laureato in "Traduzione specialistica" al termine del percorso di formazione dovrà acquisire: - capacità critico-analitiche: padroneggiare gli strumenti, anche informatici per analizzare un testo tecnico in lingua italiana/straniera, per poterlo commentare e tradurre, alla luce dei più recenti approcci/teorie linguistici e traduttologici; - capacità linguistico-traduttive: dovrà essere in grado di orientarsi con agio nei settori della linguistica applicata, della terminologia, dei lessici specialistici, con speciale riferimento ad un ventaglio di linguaggi settoriali e ai loro ambiti di riferimento in modo strumentale alla resa traduttiva; - capacità progettuali e di coordinamento: dovrà essere in grado di concepire e coordinare un eventuale lavoro collaborativo o di équipe, conoscere l'uso di supporti diversi nell'attività di traduzione, conoscere le modalità per reperire materiali, servirsi di banche dati, di memorie di traduzione, di dizionari, di lessici, anche su supporto informatico. Le competenze sono assicurate da tipologie di attività caratterizzanti nell'ambito delle lingue, delle culture straniere, dell'informatica e delle discipline delle scienze del linguaggio oltre che da tirocini e prova finale. Sono inoltre previsti seminari con docenti italiani e stranieri, attività laboratoriali con utilizzo di piattaforme informatiche. Il raggiungimento degli obiettivi formativi verrà verificato attraverso esami scritti e orali, lavori di gruppo, esercitazioni in laboratorio e la redazione della prova finale.
Capacità di applicare conoscenza e comprensione. I laureati magistrali in "Traduzione specialistica" sapranno: - tradurre in forma preferibilmente scritta testi tecnici complessi, su supporti diversi, oltre che redigere, elaborare, adattare testi tecnico-professionali in settori vari, in ambito interlinguistico e interculturale; - utilizzare con agio gli ausili informatici e telematici indispensabili alla professione del traduttore e utilizzare in maniera puntuale gli strumenti di ricerca e di documentazione tradizionali e informatizzati, mirati in particolare al reperimento di informazioni nella rete, alla realizzazione di glossari, all'utilizzo di tecnologie CAT (Computer Assisted Translation) e dei corpora linguistici, delle memorie di traduzione, ed alla gestione di informazioni; - analizzare e commentare in forma scritta/orale un testo tecnico, mettendone in luce problematiche traduttive a livello terminologico, culturale, di localizzazione, ecc. - gestire, utilizzare e presentare in forma orale/scritta linguaggi settoriali e delle relative culture disciplinari e nozioni avanzate relative alla storia, teoria e tecniche della traduzione e alle scienze del linguaggio; - concepire, gestire e valutare progetti articolati di traduzione in cui intervengano diverse competenze linguistiche ed operative distribuite su più persone. I risultati di apprendimento attesi verranno raggiunti mediante la frequenza di lezioni frontali. Il raggiungimento di tali obiettivi sarà verificato attraverso esami scritti e orali, lavori di gruppo, esercitazioni in laboratorio e redazione della prova finale.
Autonomia di giudizio. Il laureato magistrale in "Traduzione specialistica" è in grado di concepire, gestire e valutare progetti articolati di traduzione e adattamento linguistico in cui intervengano diverse competenze operative, tenendo anche conto degli aspetti deontologici correlati alla professione. Ha un’elevata capacità di organizzazione e di decisione in situazioni di team-working; è in grado gestire e creare corpora di ordine linguistico e glossari propri di linguaggi specialistici, nonché di fornire idee e consulenze nel produrre e gestire tali prodotti. Al conseguimento di tale autonomia saranno mirate le lezioni frontali di docenti e professionisti della traduzione. Gli studenti saranno inoltre incoraggiati a sviluppare e gestire autonomamente traduzioni per destinatari diversi. La verifica dei risultati, che avverrà nel corso degli esami e della prova finale, potrà avvalersi anche di valutazioni formative in itinere mediante la correzione individuale o collettiva, anche con l’ausilio di supporti informatici e telematici.
Abilità comunicative. Il laureato magistrale è in grado di comunicare, con una netta preferenza per le modalità scritte, le procedure di traduzione specializzata tecnico-scientifica ed editoriale, in italiano e in almeno due lingue straniere. Mediante la traduzione specializzata, egli deve saper mediare tra interlocutori diversi per lingua, cultura, formazione, estrazione sociale ed etnica. Deve, inoltre, essere capace di fornire idee e soluzioni per l'elaborazione di documenti scritti o multimediali rivolti a interlocutori stranieri. A tale scopo l'utilizzo dei laboratori linguistici e informatici, le lezioni e le esercitazioni pratiche garantiranno l'acquisizione delle tecniche e delle abilità traduttive più avanzate. La verifica dei risultati sarà compiuta con puntuale frequenza mediante colloqui orali e verifica di prove scritte, individuali e collettive.
Capacità di apprendimento. Il laureato magistrale è in grado di elaborare autonomamente ulteriori conoscenze e competenze di livello superiore, a partire dalla esposizione sia diretta che mediata di rilevanti dati esperienziali, nonché di organizzare e gestire un progetto di ricerca individuale guidata; è in grado di produrre materiali utili e necessari per conseguire competenze superiori e migliorare la loro produttività. I risultati di apprendimento attesi verranno raggiunti mediante la frequenza di lezioni frontali. La necessità di un continuo aggiornamento, in senso sia culturale sia linguistico-tecnico, troverà forte sostegno nelle discipline inserite nel piano di studi, intese a formare una personalità di studioso in continua e flessibile formazione. Si verificherà tale capacità di apprendimento tramite elaborati e progetti di ricerca specifici previsti come prova d'esame, come prova finale o come attività didattica alternativa o integrativa delle lezioni frontali.

Translation - English 4.2 Learning outcomes expected by the programme
The Master's Degree in "Specialised Translation" (LM-94) aims to train a professional with high translation competences in the two languages chosen, especially in the specialised languages (technical-scientific, legal, economic, touristic-cultural, and others), as well as with terminological and terminographic competences based on a thorough linguistic preparation and an adequate knowledge of the cultures which the languages of study belong to. Graduates will be able to use the IT and telematic tools essential to the practice of the translation profession. These skills are specifically necessary to work within companies, businesses, organisations, and both public and private, national and international institutions, and can be used in teaching and research projects. In particular, graduates in "Specialised Translation" must achieve the following operational objectives and possess the following competences and skills in relation to the two languages studied: - thorough preparation in translation theory and techniques; - thorough knowledge of the peculiarities of sectoral languages and the related cultures; - high translation skills, to which forms of professional editing and adaptation of texts in the interlinguistic and intercultural context may be added; - the ability to use the IT and telematic tools essential to the translator's profession and to use traditional and computer-assisted research and documentation tools, aimed in particular at searching for information on the Internet, creating glossaries, using CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) tools and linguistic corpora, translation memories, and information management; - the ability to create, manage, and evaluate complex translation projects requiring different linguistic and operational competences distributed among several people. For the above purposes, the course includes characterizing activities over the foreseen period of two years, aimed at deepening the following areas: - In the linguistic area, related to the fields of foreign languages and translation, the activities aim at the study of two foreign languages, from a contrastive perspective and in different specialised domains (legal, economic, technical-scientific, tourist-cultural, etc.). The competence acquired, together with the in-depth study of translation principles, certifies both the knowledge and acquisition of specific translation techniques in the chosen field and the knowledge and ability to handle the most common computer-assisted translation tools with the most widely used software at present; - In the cultural field, which refers to the fields of foreign literatures/cultures, the activities aim at acquiring an in-depth knowledge of the cultures belonging to the languages studied; - In the field of IT, which refers to the field of Information Technology, the planned activities will enable the acquisition of advanced IT and IT skills related to the specific field of specialised translation, with skills in the creation and management of linguistic and terminological software, translation memories, terminology databases; - In the field of linguistics, which includes activities in linguistics, foreign language didactics, and philosophy of language, activities will aim at the knowledge of the principles of applied linguistics and the theory and history of translation, with insights into the semiotics of translation. The aim is to acquire skills related to stylistic choices and discourse analysis in its different forms of realisation; activities dedicated to the acquisition of documentation techniques, writing, editing, and revising texts. The didactic activity takes the form of lectures, training exercises, and self-learning activities during the language workshop. Lectures and workshops are planned by lecturers and seminars are in collaboration with professors teaching in other universities, but also with foreigners and professionals in the translation sector. Internships in publishing houses and translation agencies are also planned. The final exam, an original and very demanding work, can be connected to the internship.
Knowledge and comprehension. The Master's degree in "Specialised Translation" aims to train graduates who have high translation skills, with a preference for the written form, in two languages chosen from the educational offer. At the end of the course, the graduates must acquire the following skills: - critical-analytical skills: mastering of the tools, including the IT tools, to analyse, comment, and translate a technical text in Italian/foreign language, taking into account the most recent linguistic and translation approaches/theories; - linguistic-translational skills: must be able to navigate with ease in the fields of applied linguistics, terminology, and specialised lexicons, especially in relation to a range of sectoral languages and their related fields to functionally produce the target text; - planning and coordination skills: must be able to plan and coordinate any type of collaboration or teamwork, know how to use different tools in the translation activity, know how to find materials, use terminology databases, translation memories, dictionaries, and lexicons, also in an electronic format. Competences are ensured through various characterising activities concerning languages, foreign cultures, information technology and linguistic disciplines, as well as through internships and the final exam. There are also seminars with Italian and foreign professors and workshops involving the use of IT platforms. The achievement of the learning outcomes is assessed through written and oral examinations, group works, training exercises during the workshops and the preparation of the final examination.
Ability to apply knowledge and comprehension. Graduates in "Specialised Translation" will be able to: - translate complex technical texts preferably in written form, in various formats, as well as compose, edit, and adapt technical texts in different fields, in an interlinguistic and intercultural context; - use IT and telematic tools with ease, which are essential for the translators, and use traditional and digital tools for research and documentation purposes with accuracy, in particular for searching information on the Internet, compiling glossaries, using technologies CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation), linguistic corpora, and translation memories, and managing data; - analyse and comment on technical texts in written/oral form, by identifying translation problems at terminological, cultural, localisation, etc., level. - master and use sectoral languages both in oral and written form and related cultures, as well as advanced concepts related to the history, theory and techniques of translation and linguistics; - plan, manage, and evaluate complex translation projects requiring various linguistic and operational skills shared between several people. The expected learning outcomes are achieved through participation in the lectures. The achievement of these objectives will be assessed through written and oral examinations, group works, training exercises during workshops and the preparation for the final examination.
Autonomous judgement. Graduates in "Specialised Translation" are able to plan, manage, and evaluate complex translation and language adaptation projects requiring a range of operational skills, by taking into account the deontological aspects of the profession. They also possess a high level of organisational and decision-making skills in teamwork situations and are able to manage and create linguistic corpora and glossaries of specialised languages, as well as to offer ideas and advice on the creation and management of such products. Lectures given by professors and translators aim to achieve this autonomy. Students are also encouraged to develop and manage translations for different recipients in an independent way. The examination of results, taking place during the exams and the final examination, can also draw on ongoing formative assessments through individual or collective corrections, also by using IT and telematic tools.
Communication skills. Graduates are able to communicate specialised technical-scientific and editorial translation procedures in Italian and in at least two foreign languages, with a marked preference for the written form. Through specialised translations, they must be able to mediate between interlocutors of different languages, cultures, backgrounds, social and ethnic origins. They must also be able to provide ideas and solutions for the preparation of written or multimedia documents addressed to foreign interlocutors. To this end, the use of linguistic and IT workshops, classes, and practical exercises will guarantee the acquisition of translation techniques and skills at the most advanced level. Results will be checked frequently through individual and collective, oral and written tests.
Learning skills. Graduates are able to independently acquire further knowledge and skills at a higher level, starting from direct and mediated presentation of significant practical findings, as well as to organise and lead a guided individual research project. They are able to produce useful and necessary materials to achieve higher skills and improve their productivity. The expected learning outcomes are achieved through regular attendance in classes. The need for constant updating, both cultural and linguistic-technical, is strongly supported by the disciplines included in the curriculum, which aim to form the personality of a scholar in continuous and flexible training. These learning abilities are tested through specific written tests and research projects, which are foreseen as examinations, as final examinations, or as alternative or complementary teaching activities to the lectures.

The primary treatment of TEN is discontinuation of the causative factor(s), usually an offending drug, early referral and management in burn units or intensive care units, supportive management, and nutritional support.[7]
Current literature does not convincingly support use of any adjuvant systemic therapy. Initial interest in Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) came from research showing that IVIG could inhibit Fas-FasL mediated keratinocyte apoptosis in vitro.[19] Unfortunately, research studies reveal conflicting support for use of IVIG in treatment of TEN.[20] Ability to draw more generalized conclusions from research to date has been limited by lack of controlled trials, and inconsistency in study design in terms of disease severity, IVIG dose, and timing of IVIG administration.[7] Larger, high quality trials are needed to assess the actual benefit of IVIG in TEN.
Numerous other adjuvant therapies have been tried in TEN including, corticosteroids, ciclosporin, cyclophosphamide, plasmapheresis, pentoxifylline, acetylcysteine, ulinastatin, infliximab, and granulocyte colony-stimulating factors (if TEN associated-leukopenia exists). There is mixed evidence for use of corticosteroids and scant evidence for the other therapies.[7] A meta-analysis from 2002 concluded that there is no reliable evidence for the treatment of TEN.[21] Thalidomide did not show any benefit and was associated with increased mortality compared with placebo.[21]

Il trattamento principale utilizzato per la NET riguarda l'interruzione dell'agente eziologico individuato (solitamente sulfamidici e altri antibiotici), la gestione iniziale nel centro ustioni o nel reparto di terapia intensiva, gli interventi assistenziali e il supporto nutrizionale.[7]
La letteratura vigente non sostiene in modo convincente l’uso di qualsiasi terapia sistemica adiuvante. L'interesse iniziale per le immunoglobuline per uso endovenoso (IVIG) deriva dalle ricerche in vitro che dimostrano la possibilità di inibire il recettore FAS, il quale causa l’apoptosi se attivato da specifici ligandi.[21] Sfortunatamente, dalle ricerche emerge un parere discordante riguardo l’uso del trattamento IVIG nei trattamenti della NET.[22] La possibilità di trarre conclusioni meno specifiche dalle ricerche finora è stata limitata dalla mancanza di controllo dei trial e dalle incoerenze evidenziate nei progetti di ricerca in termini di gravità della malattia, di dosi di IVIG e di frequenza della somministrazione di IVIG.[7] Sono necessari trial maggiori e di alta qualità per valutare i benefici reali che il trattamento IVIG può apportare ai pazienti con NET.
Diverse terapie adiuvanti sono state tentate per il trattamento della NET, compresi corticosteroidi, ciclosporine, ciclofosfamide, plasmaferesi, pentossifillina, acetilcisteina, ulinastatina, infliximab e il fattore di crescita granulocitario (G-CSF o GCSF), quest’ultimo se si verifica una combinazione della NET con la leucopenia. I dati non sono uniformi per quanto concerne l’uso di corticosteroidi e sono esigui per le altre terapie.[7] Una meta-analisi del 2002 ha concluso che non c’è un dato attendibile per il trattamento della NET.[23] La talidomide non manifesta alcun beneficio ed è stata associata ad un tasso di mortalità maggiore rispetto al trattamento con placebo.

I am Désirée and I am from Italy. I have always been interested in foreign languages, literature (in particular, poetry - I have been writing poems for more than 10 years now), music, and philosophy.
In fact, translator by trade, I'm a poet at heart. Hence, I experience several forms of poetical writing, including French Dadaist poems and Japanese haiku.
During my educational background, linguistics and translation studies have enriched my mindset. I am very keen on semiotics, pragmatics, applied linguistics, specialised discourse and translation, and especially the legal and medical fields of translation. Furthermore, during my degree courses and translation projects at Università degli studi di Bari Aldo Moro, I developed and diversified new skills. The translation experiences trained me for several genres (judgements, PILs, a manual for electronic devices, recipes, and annual reports are just a few texts I have studied and translated) and for the development of transversal skills, such as the technological competence (mastery of CAT tools and terminology tools, as well as glossary construction, corpus compilation, and the consultation of institutional terminology databases) and intercultural and pragmatic skills (in-depth knowledge of the traditions, beliefs, and other cultural elements of the languages involved in translation and application of these contextual elements at linguistic register level in the writing/translation activity, as well as communicative skills).
