The idea of an African origin of humanity dates back to Charles
Darwin, who predicted that in order to find the ancestors of humans
we ought to explore in those places where our closest living relatives, the great apes, now live. It was not until the 1920s, however,
that palaeoanthropologists began to become aware of its fossil
hominin record. In 1921 miners discovered an ancient skull at a

The civilization of ancient Greece, which
reached its zenith in the 5th century bce,
was founded not by one large nation or
empire, but in a series of city-states, each of
which had its own traditions, culture, and
deities. As a result, many of the gods and
goddesses of ancient Greece had local
followings. For example, Athena was
closely associated with Athens, Zeus
with Olympia, and Apollo with Delphi.
But ancient Greeks everywhere came to
recognize a large group of deities who
interacted with one another – and with
the world of people – rather in the
manner of an extended human family,
with its myriad close relatives. Members
of this great pantheon of gods and goddesses fell in love and
had relationships – even with mere mortals – had immense
personal and political rivalries, and frequently went to war | Translation - Thai
